Hi,
Did anyone here already try SAP in a BIM project context or a built asset management context ? If so, what are your feedbacks ?
More generally, my question is : In your opinion, how come industry top softwares aren't much used in AEC industry ?
thanks,

Do you mean SAP the German software company which makes administration/bookkeeping software?

Yes.
They are the leader in industry ERP software and they pretend they can solve facility management usecases. But from my experience, there are very few companies in the AEC-Real Estate industry who use them, and I was wondering why, and what feedback actors from the industry who uses them have.

Well, I don't know about many open source ERP solutions.
However I do know something about Microsoft ERP solution called Business Central. Warning, shameless plug:
The company I work for is a reseller of Microsoft's Business Central. However because IFC is kind of unofficially accepted to be the standard now in the Netherlands they made this IFC extension for Business Central:
https://www.4ps.nl/bim_bridge/
https://www.4psgroup.com/bim/
It's really aimed at HVAC product management for big companies with an integration of Busines Central.
The product manager gave me a demo once, it looked really cool. But I don't think many clients use it. Because only the big construction companies with an own IT department are able to get value out of such an extension.
