Copy/paste edges from mesh into IfcMaterialLayerSet profile?

   Let's say you have a bunch of glorious edges inside a dumb mesh you'd like to copy/paste into a super smart slab profile. Is there a way?

   one way, that works, i've just found is to make a face with the edges, and extrude, and then Update Mesh As Arbitrary Extrusion... and then assign a slab type to the object.

   Would still be nice to find a way to be able to copy/paste edges from one mesh into this profile, if possible. I can see use cases for that.
