@bernd I believe IfcConvert (which is IfcOpenShell) creates a DAE, and then Collada2Gltf is used to prepare the geometry. I think now a glb is used instead of a gltf. Also, IfcConvert also creates an XML to retain the metadata. Then BIMSurfer v2 displays it (note there are 3 BIMSurfer versions, each incompatible with the other and with a particular tech stack).
The Ifc Pipeline package also includes some other things like a database, I believe for managing the process queue.
