borehole / geothermal stuff in bonsai

   Hi,

   i try to modeling my geothermal borehole (for heat pump build in single family house).

   I thought to put all the components, like tubes, collectors and so on into a separate subelement class, like building. But there are only direct building relatet subelement classes (see following figure)

   

   I checked the ifc4 documentation there are geothermal stuff relateted classes (https://standards.buildingsmart.org/IFC/RELEASE/IFC4_3/HTML/lexical/IfcBorehole.htm)

   I will create an storey called "geothermal".

   I think my workaround is not "right".

   Do you have a better idea?

   IFC4 does not have boreholes. Only IFC4X3. These are the built-in classifications that IFC comes with. Assuming you're on IFC4, if IFC is missing a classification that you need, you can just call it an IfcBuildingElementProxy in IFC4 and gives it a userdefined type and manually name it BOREHOLE.
