Can you teach be some BlenderBIM basics?

  1. R

    Hello,

Can you teach me some Bonsai basics? I wish to model a CLT hut. The wall, floor & roof have several layers.

    I want to:

    1. Create a library of materials (CLT, Concrete, Wood Fibre Insulation, Cladding, Tiles

    2. Create a library of walls, floor, roofs.

    3. Create the hut.

    4. Animate the assembly sequence.

    5. Create CNC file for the CLT

    6. Create BLT file for the walls.

I will gladly pay for your time.

    Thanks,

    Gaurav

If I may, you could start with sharing your dwg or sketch to understand the extent of your exercise, but being a hut it shouldn't be that big

I had to look it up to see what CLT and BLT mean.. that piece of info might be useful too, maybe?

I think points 1 to 3 are not difficult to learn with available videos on YouTube but won't take long to go through them

does nr 4 go along with a 4D work plan or just a Blender sequence?

no idea about the last two.. :))

    I could probably help you.

Have been using BB for a couple years now. Here's our work: https://community.osarch.org/discussion/1423/live-projects-an-exploration/p2

Currently working with @axelp on introducing new workflows from Bonsai to CADwork, and hopefully directly to CNC, in the future.. Still very early days, however.

I'm an architect by training, but know a 'little' python.

In general, i think figuring out a workflow from Bonsai to CNC would benefit a lot of people, would probably be worth a concentrated funding campaign to bring in a core developer to figure it out.

I ping @axelp here too, as he's thought about this alot.

I've spent some time on Youtube but it's a little more intricate than I thought. I'm using Bonsai 4.2 and the settings seemed to have changed.

Yes, I think there is a need to go to CNC. Is there . I'd rather not go through CADwork as it's closed source.

Will BlenderCAM work for CNC of CLT layers? Has anyone done this?

    (CLT: Cross Laminated Timber)

(BLT- CNC format for Wall construction)

well, it has changed a bit, can you share anything about the hut you need to build? a dxf perhaps?

but this can also be a quick gig for someone who's interested in accepting your offer too?

    cheers

There are plugins for g-code export directly from blender, but I can't find anything about blt, do you have some references?
