Even those who ere not used to work with open source tools are probably familiar with the amazing community mapping project OpenStreetMap.

In this month's MonthlyMeetup Vladimir Elistratov (@prochitecture ), talks about his Blender OSM add-on, its current state and ongoing development. You should try it out, even if you use proprietary software - it's so easy just to download the model of your site, export it to ifc and import to Revit, Archicad, or whatever you are using, it's crazy.

Our Monthly Meetup #16 in July was perhaps more focused on developers: Lindsay Kay of xeolabs spoke about his journey towards a perfect ifc viewer, but also about the way he makes his living doing what he loves - open source software development.

The IFC world of today is unfortunately not perfect - even the largest engineering software suites are still struggling with a proper IFC export. In September's OSArch Meetup we meet Yousheng Wang from BIM Mars presenting the ins and outs of IFC Toolbox, a set of user-friendly tools to process Industry Foundation Class (IFC) files - fix 'em, split 'em, convert or anonymize 'em - all this you can now do with just a few clicks in open source software.
