Units are the same.. But when i import them individually so 1 blender file and i import both ifc's into that project they are perfect alligned and scaled. But i wanted to use the IfcPatch since it looks like a more elegant way to do it, but then one model is scaled for some reason..

I ended up mergin the files with another (commercial) tool SimpleBIM and it seemed to work fine. So I am still convinced that the patch has a bug in it tbh...

  5. T

can you share ifc files, or a parred down version of them?

    1. so the file with out the spaces and 2. just the spaces
  7. T

It looks like your spaces file is in centimeters...

using the 'ConvertLengthUnit' patch, convert to ["METERS"].

    Then merge the files.

That's weird, then i'd say that merging it with the other software should given the same problem, but it didn't... But of course the IFC file doesn't lie. However, thanks for the answer and help.

    Kind regards,

    Louis

The other software probably does a similar 'CovertLengthUnit' patch before merging--is just baked in.

A similar patch could be written for BB/IfcOpenShell.

    Could be indeed. Thanks !!

Hell of lot of worksarounds here, merging some IFC models should be made a lot easier

Updated MergeProject ifcpatch - it's now converting second project's units to the main project's unit.

There also were issues converting SI projects to imperial units with ConvertLengthUnit, now they are resolved (previously if you would try to convert some unit to imperial it would treat is as converting it to meters).
