New IfcOpenShell IFC test server

  1. M

There is an IfcOpenShell Github issue where I propose to create an IFC test case build server - which effectively tests the ability for ifcopenshell to import and process a variety of test cases to mitigate regressions and provide reference test models. See here: https://github.com/IfcOpenShell/IfcOpenShell/issues/837

Since both Blender and FreeCAD share IfcOpenShell I think this a good resource for the community. It's still very fresh and lacking in features, but you can see it here: https://ci.blenderbim.org/

If anybody has any test IFC files they'd like to volunteer to be part of the test suite, please let me know :) I'm particularly looking for medium to large models with varying complexities and coming from different BIM/CAD vendors. I'll need to sort through my test collection too :)

    This is great :)

I used to test ifc opening by IFC++, BIMServer, later viewer.ifcopenshell.org, the result is not very consistent. Would this Villa Savoye Model be useful ? Would be very helpful to test if my model and FreeCAD output good IFC. Thanks :D

I haven't had time to work on the CI, but due to the Epic Megagrants, a much more robust testing system is being setup. However, this is based on isolated elements in models I believe, not full models to be more efficient.

If you'd like to test full models like the Villa Savoye model, I'd recommend the BlenderBIM Add-on with generous use of the IFC Debug panel.
